This is a new series of work done over the summer of 2010. This work will be shown in exhibition at the Síntesis Gallery in Toledo, Spain on 30 September, 2010. The paintings are autobiographical and relate to people, places and events relevant to my 59 years on Earth. The primary media is either acrylic painting, charcoal or a combination of both. These works will be available for purchase after 1 October, 2010. I also plan to make a few limited edition art giclees from a few select pieces.
With nothing more than burnt twigs and paper one can create art. This series of charcoal paintings is an attempt to explore the creative possibilities present within strict limitations: Subject matter = human hands, materials = charcoal and paper.
